If you do not have an account, you can create one by following the link on the bottom right. Login or Create an IRS Account 2. Sign In Enter your login credentials and click on the "Sign in" button. 3. Make a Payment Under the payment section click on make a payment 4. Choose Payment Method & Type of Payment Choose which payment method you prefer. If using a credit card you will be redirected to another page with three options that the IRS provides as approved credit card processors and their fees. Let's assume you're going with a bank account in this example. Click the radio button for Bank Account under Payment Method. Under Select Your Payment, choose the button for Extension. Then enter the amount of payment you want to make to the IRS with the extension. 5. Setup Withdrawal Date Choose a payment date for which you authorized the IRS to withdraw this amount. 6. Enter Bank Information If you already have a bank account saved in your account you can use that preloaded information otherwise you can manually enter your account information. Be sure to include your account type, routing number, and account number. 7. Save email address Confirm your email address and click next 8. Consent to authorization Be sure to review your bank account information ensure your email is correct and proceed to check the box for the consent and authorization of payment 9. Save payment confirmation Boom! confirmation received! You'll always have access to these payment details as well as all your other relevant tax records and information in your IRS account. Easy!

From there, select the "Personal Income Tax" option to proceed. 3. Select Personal Income Tax Access the Personal Income Tax section. 4. File an Extension Initiate the process to file an extension. 5. Provide Filing Status Confirm the tax year is 2023 and select your filing status. Ignore the "special condition" section. 6. Fill in Tax Details Choose New York State as the first option from the drop down list. Enter zero for sales and use tax and then enter your intended New York state extension payments on the last line. 7. Select payment option Select the Bank Account payment option. 8.
